In addition, he also holds a Commercial Deep-Sea Divers certificate.

A Transport Canada Training Certificate in Marine First Aid is issued upon successful completion

Course Description

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques and scenarios for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in a marine setting. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E. Designed for any person who wants to obtain a master’s or Officer’s certificate or endorsement, or those that are designated to provide first aid on board a vessel engaged on coastal voyage, class one or unlimited voyage. Covers advanced first aid techniques in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR/AED level BLS), sudden medical emergencies, oxygen administration, and injuries to the head, neck, or spine.

Marine Advance First Aid is required by

  1. Any person who wants to obtain a master’s or Officer’s certificate or endorsement.
  2. The person designated to provide first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near coastal voyage, class 1 or unlimited voyage.

Marine Advanced First Aid

  • Duration: Course Length: 31 – hours (Transport Canada requirement)
  • Instructor: Certified Red Cross Emergency Care Instructor
  • Completion: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on written exam
  • Certification:  Transport Canada Marine Advanced First Aid CPR Level BLS training Certificate valid for 5 years along with a Canadian Red Cross Marine Advanced First Aid, CPR Level BLS certificate.
