Marine Advanced First Aid

Prerequisite Requirements:  None

  • Duration: Course Length: 31 – hours (4 days) (Transport Canada requirement)
  • Instructor: Certified Red Cross Emergency Care Instructor
  • Completion: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on written exam
  • Certification:  Transport Canada Marine Advanced First Aid CPR Level BLS training Certificate valid for 5 years along with a Canadian Red Cross Marine Advanced First Aid, CPR Level BLS certificate.      

If you require Marine First Aid Training, wouldn’t you prefer an instructor who is a experienced Marine Professional?  If you are presently in the marine industry or just starting out you are required to have an Marine First Aid Training Certificate.  If you are looking for employment on Commercial deep sea, Fishing vessels, Cruise ships, Canadian Coast Guard, BC Ferries or you may be a pleasure boat owner who wants to be more prepared, we can help you obtain this certification.  

Those who are interested in our Marine First Aid programs may be pleased to know that our senior instructor has more than 40 years Commercial Deep Sea, Canadian Arctic and Coastal shipping experience, as well as Yacht Master in the Caribbean, deep sea Tuna fishing and Chief Officer at BC Ferries. In addition, he also holds a Commercial Deep-Sea Divers certificate.

A Transport Canada Training Certificate in Marine First Aid is issued upon successful completion

Marine Advance First Aid is required by
  1. Any person who wants to obtain a master’s or Officer’s certificate or endorsement.
  2. The person designated to provide first aid on board a vessel engaged on a near coastal voyage, class 1 or unlimited voyage.

Additional Information

  1. Should you or your group need to cancel or reschedule a course that you have registered for, we require a minimum of 10 days written notice prior to the start date of the course.  At your request we will attempt to reschedule you or your group into another course at a later date.  Should you wish a refund instead, a $35.00 per person administration fee will apply.  The cost of any materials you may have received prior to class start date plus a PayPal refund fee may apply. These fees will be deducted from any refund.  Should you wish to reschedule, no future refunds or reschedules are available after a change has been made.
  2. For cancellations received between 10 – 8 days prior to the start date of the course a 50% refund will be issued.  However, the course provider may, at its sole discretion, apply the full course fee paid to a future course. Should this be the case, no future refunds or reschedules are available after a change has been made.
  3. If the course provider must cancel a course due to low enrollment or other circumstances, registered participants will be rescheduled or receive a full refund
  4. For cancellations received less than 8 days prior to the start date of the course, no refund will be issued, or any rescheduling, no exceptions!
  5. Those who have registered for a course and do not attend that course will not receive a refund or be rescheduled, no exceptions!
  6. To complete the required 31 hours of instruction, Transport Canada requires 100 % attendance.  If the participant cannot fulfill this requirement for whatever reason no certificate of completion will be issued. There will be no refund nor rescheduling.
  7. If prior arrangements have been made for invoicing, you will be invoiced according to the above Refund / Cancellation Policy
